Spring:greenhouse
Each Spring, the farm is bathed in color. While we recommend not planting annuals (anything that must be planted each year, sometimes in full bloom when purchased) until after the first new moon—this year on May 25, we welcome spring fever, and all those who want to come browse our gorgeous greenhouses or get a jump on planting perennials! The good news is perennials can be planted as soon as we open for business. We start planting in February, and where you shop is literally where the plants were grown. You can’t get any closer to nature than here!

Our spring usually is busiest around Mother's Day—as it should be, all you mothers need to be pampered! Gift Cards are always a popular present and can be ordered online or at the farm in denominations of $25, $50 or $100.

Barbara is famous for her container gardens including containerwindow boxes, and receives numerous compliments. Bring any container, or purchase a container at Frerichs, tell us what you’d like in it, or give us free reign—come back in a few days, and we’ve done all the work for you. This is great for busy lives, or just for those who would prefer Barbara’s expertise. There’s no charge for this service—Barbara charges only for the plants and soil, and if applicable the container. Talk about a deal!

Halloween Party for Party for Individuals with Autism and Their Families

Autism is a cause near and dear to our hearts. We hold this special day each year to give those children and their families a day of fun! This year, on September 30, individuals with autism and their families will join in the fun with the bouncy house, western town, pirate ship, scavenger hunt, bubble table and food! Rain date October 1.

Giant Pumpkin Weigh-Off trophy pumpkins

Frerichs is known for its giant pumpkins! We’ve made national news! Who would have thought Warren, the smallest town in the smallest state, would be known for something so large? Since 2000 Frerichs has hosted the Southern New England Giant Pumpkin Grower’s Annual Weigh-off on Columbus Day Weekend. This year, on October 7, thousands of people will come to see the pumpkins and enjoy the festivities. Click here to see pictures from last year’s weigh-off. Rain dates October 8 or 9.

Winter:
Each year we kick off our Holiday season with a Girl’s Night Out. Last year, the gift barn was packed for an evening of shopping, appetizers, music, and great company. Click here to see pictures of a previous Girls Nite Out! This year's event will be on November 4.

The holidays come in full swing here at the farm with our traditional Thanksgiving weekend Open House. This is when we start selling Christmas trees, greens, wreaths, and custom-made pieces. Click here to see what we can do! While our Holiday Loft opens in fall, Christmas doesn't get into full swing until this weekend, when the entire gift shop and two closest greenhouses become Winter Wonderlands. Open House will be held November 24-26.

As always, our staff is ready to help you pick out the perfect gift or write out a gift certificate in any denomination if you they’d rather shop our flower selection in the spring.
